Marrying Science and Creativity
Peter Kirchner, Winemaker
Peter always had a passion for wine, stemming from growing up in the bay area where he was exposed to premium wines. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz and entered the UC Davis Extension program to complete the Winemaking Certificate program. Combining his scientific mindset and his knowledge of vineyards, Peter takes great pride in ensuring the wines he makes and vineyards he manages reach their utmost potential. Although he spends much of his time out in the vineyards, he feels he is winemaking at all times, with the belief that the most important component to a high-quality wine is the premium fruit that goes into it.
Big Vineyards to Small Lots
Dustin Moore, Viticulture & Vineyard Manager
After graduating from Fresno State in 2015 with a degree in viticulture, Dustin initially worked with E&J Gallo where his focus was on constant vine health analysis. This included pathogen identification and treatment, irrigation strategies, and insect abatement. Dustin also was responsible for vine nutrient analysis and cluster sampling throughout the season. After Gallo, Dustin joined Constellation Brands as a viticulturist where he oversaw 5,000 acres of vines. Dustin is now excited to bring his vast experience and skill set to the private vineyard sector where he can be more hands on with each individual site
